The benefit will be available for ration card holders under the AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana) and SPHH (Special Priority Household) categories under the Khadya Sathi scheme.
The initiative has been introduced under the guidance of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to support economically weaker families during the important religious month of Ramadan. Through this program, the state government will provide essential food items at subsidized prices through ration shops across West Bengal.
Special Ramadan Package Details
According to the announcement made by the Department of Food and Supplies, eligible ration card holders will receive three important food items commonly used during Ramadan. These items will be available at lower prices through ration dealers.
Each eligible family will be able to purchase the following items:

Distribution Dates
The special Ramadan package will be available for a limited period. According to the official notice, the distribution will take place from 19 February 2026 to 19 March 2026.
During this period, eligible beneficiaries can collect the items from their local ration shops using their ration cards. The distribution will be done through the existing Public Distribution System (PDS) network across the state.

Who Can Get the Benefit?
The special package will only be available to the following ration card holders:
- AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana) card holders
- SPHH (Special Priority Household) card holders
These categories mainly include families from economically weaker sections who are already receiving benefits under the Khadya Sathi scheme.
Government’s Welfare Initiative
The Khadya Sathi scheme is one of the largest food security programs run by the West Bengal government. Under this scheme, crores of people in the state receive rice and other food grains at very low prices through ration shops.
The Ramadan special package is part of the government’s effort to support people during major religious festivals. Similar initiatives have been taken in previous years as well.
Officials from the Food and Supplies Department said that the goal of this initiative is to ensure that families observing Ramadan have access to important food items without facing financial difficulties.
How to Collect the Items
Beneficiaries who have AAY or SPHH ration cards can visit their nearest ration dealer during the distribution period. They will need to show their ration card to purchase the items at the fixed subsidized prices.
The state government has also advised ration dealers to ensure proper distribution so that all eligible families can receive the benefits without any problem.
