    WB ITI & Polytechnic Admission: The Government of West Bengal has invited online applications for admission to Polytechnic and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) for the academic session 2026–2027 through the Common Admission Portal.

    This initiative has been launched under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to expand access to technical and vocational education across the state.

    The admission process is conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development, along with the West Bengal State Council for Vocational Training.

    Polytechnic Admission 2026 – Age Criteria

    Candidates applying for Polytechnic courses must meet the following age requirements:

    • Minimum Age: 15 years
    • Candidates must be born before 01 July 2011
    • Upper Age Limit: No upper age limit

    This means candidates of any age above the minimum requirement can apply.

    Polytechnic Admission 2026 – Educational Qualification

    Admission to Polytechnic courses is available through two entry levels.

    First Year Admission

    • Candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 10 (Madhyamik)
    • The examination must be from a recognized board

    Second Year Admission (Lateral Entry)

    • Candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 12
    • Must be from a recognized board

    ITI Admission 2026 – Age Criteria

    For admission to ITI courses:

    • Minimum Age: 14 years
    • Candidates must be born before 01 August 2012
    • Upper Age Limit: No upper age limit

    ITI Admission 2026 – Educational Qualification

    ITI admissions are divided into two groups based on educational qualifications.

    E Group

    • Candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 8
    • From any recognized school located in West Bengal

    M Group

    • Candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 10

    • From any recognized school located in West Bengal
