SSC CGL 2025 Result Out: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA) for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2025, bringing major updates for lakhs of aspirants across India.
The result of Tier-I of the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2025, was declared on 18.12.2025. Thereafter, Tier-II of the Examination was conducted in the Computer-Based Mode on 18.01.2026 and 19.01.2026.
First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA) has been done in accordance with the Notice dated 03.03.2026 on the introduction of the Sliding Mechanism for qualifying candidates.
This announcement comes after the completion of Tier-I and Tier-II examinations, marking a crucial stage in the final selection process.

SSC has finalized a total of 15,118 vacancies for CGL 2025 after minor revisions in some departments.

A total of 15,118 candidates have been provisionally recommended in the first allocation round.

- UR: 30%
- OBC/EWS: 25%
- Others: 20%
For Data Entry Speed Test (DEST), a controlled error percentage was also mandatory.
CKT & DEST: Key Qualification Rules
- Computer Knowledge Test (CKT) and Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) are qualifying in nature
- Candidates must pass both to be eligible for allocation
CKT Cut-Off (Out of 60):
- UR: 24
- OBC/EWS: 21
- Others: 18
DEST Error Limit:
- UR: 5%
- OBC/EWS: 7%
- Others: Up to 10%
Posts Requiring CPT & DEST
Some high-demand posts require additional skill tests like Computer Proficiency Test (CPT).
Major Posts Include:
- Inspector (CBIC)
- Assistant Section Officer (MEA, CSS, AFHQ)
- Executive Assistant
- Assistant in various ministries
Additionally, certain posts like Tax Assistant require a higher DEST standard.
SSC CGL 2025 Result Out: How Final Allocation Was Done
The FRTA has been prepared based on:
- Tier-II performance
- Post preferences submitted online
- Merit-cum-preference system
For specific posts like JSO and Statistical Investigator, Paper-II marks were also considered.
Sliding Mechanism: Big Change This Year
SSC introduced a “Sliding Mechanism” in 2025 to improve vacancy utilization.
Key Highlights:
- Candidates can upgrade their post allocation
- Helps reduce unfilled vacancies
- Ensures better merit-based placement

Tie-Breaking Rules
If two candidates have the same marks, SSC applies:
- Higher marks in Paper-II (if applicable)
- Higher marks in Section-I
- Older candidate gets preference
- Alphabetical order of names

- 107 results are withheld due to various reasons
- 8 candidates were rejected/debarred
- Final answer keys and marks will be released soon
- Court cases may impact some allocations
