NEET SS Counselling Begins 2026: The counselling process for NEET Super Speciality (NEET SS) 2026 has officially begun after the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) released the detailed schedule for Round 1 registration and seat allotment. Candidates who have qualified for the examination can now participate in the counselling process through the official portal Medical Counselling Committee at mcc.nic.in.
The counselling process is conducted for admission to various Super Speciality (SS) medical courses across India. It covers 50 percent All India Quota (AIQ) seats, while the remaining seats are filled through respective state counselling authorities and institutions.
NEET SS Counselling 2026 Begins: Registration Window Open
According to the official notification issued by the Medical Counselling Committee, the Round 1 registration window opened on March 10, 2026, and will remain active until March 15, 2026.
Eligible candidates must complete the online registration, fill in their preferred courses and colleges, and lock their choices within the specified timeline.
Seat allotment will be determined based on:
- Candidate’s NEET SS 2026 rank
- Availability of seats
- Preferences submitted during choice filling
Once the allotment results are announced, candidates must report to the assigned medical institutions to complete admission formalities and document verification.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF MCC:
The following roles & responsibilities have been entrusted to MCC of DGHS:
- Maintenance of the official website of MCC, DGHS,
- Finalisation of counselling procedure & schedule,
- Co-ordination with the concerned agencies for counselling against State/UT quota seats,
- Matters, including court cases, were transferred to MCC.
- Any other task(s) related to counselling & allocation of seats against AIQ, etc.
- Finalisation of counselling centers & making necessary arrangements at the Counsellingcenters, if applicable.
- Fixation of counselling fees & deposits, if any.
- Distribution & collection of the form.
- Work relating to the audit of funds to be placed under its disposal.
Types of Counselling (NEET SS Counselling Begins 2026):
All the NEET (UG, PG, SS) aspirants are hereby informed that MCC of DGHS conducts counselling mentioned as under:
UG Counselling:
- 15% All India Quota seats MBBS/ BDS Seats of States (participation of the Union Territory of J&K is subject to their contribution of seats),
- 100%MBBS/ BDS Seats of BHU,
- 100% MBBS Seats of AIIMS across India,
- 100% JIPMER seats (Puducherry/ Karaikal),
- 100% AMU
- 85% of State Quota seats of DU/ I.P University (VMMC/ ABVIMS/ESIC Dental),
- 100% -Faculty of Dentistry (Jamia Milia Islamia), along with 5% internal Quota of Jamia students
- 15% IP quota seats of ESIC.
PG Counselling:
MCC conducts Counselling for the following Institutions/Universities:
- 50% All India Quota seats of all states (participation of the Union Territory of J&K is subject to their contribution of seats).
- 100% seats (All India Quota seats + Institutional Quota seats) of Central Universities (Aligarh Muslim University/ Banaras Hindu University/ University of Delhi/ Central Institutes as per eligibility conditions as provided by the respective college/institute.
- 100% seats of Deemed Universities.
- 50% AIQ P.G seats of colleges under the Employee State Insurance Corporation (wards of ESIC insured persons).
- Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions (only Registration part).
Super Specialty Counselling
The MCC has been entrusted with the responsibility to conduct counselling for 100% seats of the contributing states, for the course of DM/MCh across the country, for State/ Private Colleges & Deemed Universities by the Directorate General of Health Services, MoHFW, except INI (Institute of National Importance) institutes.
NEET SS Counselling 2026: Round 1 Schedule
The first phase of counselling includes multiple steps such as registration, choice filling, seat allotment processing, and reporting to the allotted institute.

The second round of counselling will begin shortly after the completion of Round 1 admissions.

Candidates who are not allotted a seat in Round 1 or who wish to upgrade their seat can participate in Round 2.
Registration Process for NEET SS Counselling 2026
Candidates must complete the registration process online through the Medical Counselling Committee counselling portal: https://mcc.nic.in/about-department/
During registration, applicants will need to provide the following details:
- Candidate name
- Guardian’s name
- NEET SS application number
- Roll number
- NEET SS score
- Date of birth
- Category details
- Citizenship information
After submitting the required information, candidates must pay the counselling fee to finalize their registration.
NEET SS Counselling Fee Structure
To complete the registration process, candidates must pay the following fees:
- Non-refundable registration fee: ₹5,000
- Refundable security deposit: ₹2,00,000
- Total payable amount: ₹2,05,000
The security deposit will be refunded to candidates according to the rules after completion of the counselling process.
How Seat Allotment Works
The seat allotment process will be conducted centrally by the Medical Counselling Committee. After candidates submit and lock their preferences, the system processes the choices along with the candidate’s NEET SS rank.
Seats are allocated based on:
- Candidate rank in NEET Super Speciality
- Availability of seats in participating institutions
- Order of preferences filled by candidates
Once the allotment result is released, candidates must download the allotment letter and report to the assigned institute within the deadline.
