Who Can Apply for IRCTC Recruitment?
The vacancy is open only to serving officers of Indian Railways. The eligibility conditions include:
- Must be a Group ‘A’ officer of Indian Railways
- Officers from services other than IRPFS and IRHS are eligible
- Must be below 58 years of age on the closing date of the vacancy notice
- Must hold a graduate degree in any discipline
- Officers with IT exposure and those with commercial department experience in Indian Railways will be given preference
Pay Scale and Deputation Benefits
Selected officers will be entitled to:
- Parent pay + Deputation allowance
- Other perks and allowances as per IRCTC policy
The post carries either of the following pay structures:
- ₹37,400–67,000 with Grade Pay ₹10,000 (6th CPC)
or - Level-14 (7th CPC), CDA pattern
Officers in Level-13 (7th CPC) with at least three years of service in the grade are also eligible to apply.
Duration of Deputation
- Tenure: Three years
- Can end earlier if the officer is absorbed in IRCTC or if immediate absorption rules are relaxed by the government
Job Role and Responsibilities (IRCTC Recruitment)
The Group General Manager (East Zone) will act as the overall administrative and functional head of the East Zone. The role includes:
- Managing all administrative, business, and operational activities of the zone
- Implementing policies and procedures issued by the IRCTC Corporate Office
- Ensuring smooth coordination between IRCTC and Railway / non-railway authorities
- Overseeing performance, compliance, and regional growth
Selection Process
- Selection will be carried out as per the procedure prescribed by the Ministry of Railways
- Final selection will depend on scrutiny of service records, vigilance clearance, APARs of the last three years, and overall suitability
