Veteran actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee has passed away at the age of 42. Reports suggest that he met with an accident while shooting in Talsari. News of his demise emerged on the evening of March 29.
According to sources, he was filming for a TV series in Talsari when he accidentally fell into the water. He was subsequently rescued by the crew’s technicians.
Notably, Rahul Arunoday Banerjee had been working in Tollywood for over two decades. He worked effortlessly across all three media: television, cinema, and the digital space. Most recently, audiences could see him in the TV series *Bhole Baba Paar Karega*. His on-screen chemistry with Shweta Mishra won the hearts of viewers—a success that was clearly reflected in the show’s TRP ratings. Before this, he had also acted in the series *Horogouri Pice Hotel*.
Additionally, audiences recently saw Rahul Arunoday Banerjee on the streaming platform Hoichoi in the popular series *Thakurmar Jhuli*, in which he portrayed the role of a police officer.

According to initial reports, Rahul had entered the water after completing his shooting schedule. It is believed that he went into the sea sometime after pack-up, when most of the crew members were either resting or having lunch.
When he did not return for a prolonged period, concern grew among the crew. Technicians rushed to the spot and eventually pulled him out of the water.
Sources suggest that he had remained submerged for several minutes before being rescued.
Rushed to Hospital, Declared Dead
Rahul was immediately taken to a hospital in Digha. However, reports indicate that he was declared dead either on arrival or shortly after reaching the hospital.
A post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted at the same hospital to determine the exact cause of death. Preliminary indications point toward drowning.
Co-Actors and Industry React
Actor Bhaskar Banerjee, who worked alongside Rahul in the same serial, confirmed the tragic news. He stated that the team had gone to Talsari for shooting and the incident occurred after pack-up.
“It’s a heartbreaking incident. We had just finished shooting and gone for lunch. Rahul said he would complete a few more shots. None of us imagined something like this could happen,” he said.
Another industry member, Diganta Bagchi, shared that Rahul entered the water after the shoot ended.
“Either he didn’t know how to swim or got trapped somehow. Technicians suddenly started shouting that he was drowning. He was alive when brought out, but later declared dead at the hospital,” he added.
