SBI Recruitment 2026: The State Bank of India (SBI) has released an official recruitment notification for the post of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) under the Specialist Cadre Officers (SCO) category. The recruitment will be conducted on a contractual basis through SBI’s Central Recruitment & Promotion Department.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 31 December 2025)

• Minimum Age: 52 years
• Maximum Age: 57 years

Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India norms.

Educational Qualification

• Mandatory: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
• Preferred Certifications: FRM and/or CFA

Experience Requirement

Applicants must have:

• Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience in financial operations
• Experience should preferably be in banks, large corporates, PSUs, financial institutions, or financial services organisations
• At least 10 years’ experience in banks or financial institutions, including 5 years at senior management level

Teaching or training experience will not be considered.

Job Role and Responsibilities for SBI Recruitment

The Chief Financial Officer will play a key leadership role in SBI’s financial management. Major responsibilities include:

• Oversight of financial reporting and compliance with RBI and SEBI regulations
• Supervision of statutory audits and coordination with NFRA and RBI
• Handling tax compliance, including GST and TDS
• Managing accounting systems, internal controls, and implementation of Ind AS / IFRS
• Supporting international banking operations on accounting and tax matters
• Developing and maintaining business continuity plans
• Ensuring compliance with directions from the Audit Committee of the Board

Contract Period & Remuneration

• Initial Contract Period: 3 years
• Extension: Up to 2 additional years (maximum total 5 years), subject to performance

Salary / CTC

• Annual CTC: Negotiable
• CTC will be divided into 90% fixed pay and 10% variable pay
• Variable pay is performance-linked
• CTC will not be a limiting factor for a suitable candidate

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of:

1. Shortlisting based on qualifications and experience
2. Personal Interview (100 marks)
3. CTC Negotiation for shortlisted candidates

Final selection will be based on interview performance and successful negotiation of remuneration.
