2026 Madhyamik Exam Schedule Released by WBBSE (10th) | Check Subject-wise Dates and Timings

2026 Madhyamik Exam Schedule: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has officially released the Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination) 2026 schedule. As per the notification issued on 6 May 2025, the Class 10 board examinations will begin on 2 February 2026 and conclude on 12 February 2026.

The examination will be conducted in one paper per day, and lakhs of students across West Bengal are expected to appear for the exam next year.

Madhyamik 2026 Exam Timing

According to the board notification:

• Exam Time: 10:45 AM to 2:00 PM
• Reading Time: First 15 minutes (10:45 AM – 11:00 AM) are strictly for reading the question paper
• Answer Writing: Begins at 11:00 AM

2026 Madhyamik (10th) Exam Schedule (Subject-wise)

List of First and Second Languages

First Languages include:

Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Modern Tibetan, Nepali, Odia, Gurumukhi (Punjabi), Telugu, Tamil, Urdu, and Santali.

Second Language rules:

• English, if any language other than English is chosen as First Language
• Bengali or Nepali, if English is chosen as First Language

Special Exam Duration Details

The board has also clarified subject-specific exam durations:

• Sewing & Needle Work: 4 hours 15 minutes
• Music (Vocal & Instrumental – Theory): 2 hours 15 minutes
  • Practical exams will be held in Kolkata only; dates to be announced later
• Computer Application:
  • Theory: 2 hours 45 minutes
  • Practical: Conducted by individual schools
• Vocational Subjects:
  • Theory: 1 hour 45 minutes
  • Practical: Conducted by Sector Skill Council or schools
